Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Q1 Loss Widens - Quick Facts

Printing machines maker Heidelberger Druckmaschinen Aktiengesellschaft (HBGRF.PK) reported a wider first-quarter net loss of 74 million euros, compared with a loss of 46 million euros in the previous year. Loss before taxes also widened to 82 million euros, from a 47 million euros loss last year.

Sales for the first three months of the current fiscal year decreased to 520 million euros, from 544 million euros a year earlier.

In the next financial year, the cost savings resulting from FOCUS 2012 would take full effect and lead to annual savings of some 180 million euros. Therefore, the company still expects to achieve a result of operating activities, excluding special items, of around 150 million euros and a net profit in fiscal year 2013/2014.

Stocks have shown a notable move to the downside in early trading on Friday amid lingering concerns about the outlook for the Federal Reserve's asset purchase program. The major averages have slid firmly into negative territory, adding to the modest losses posted in the previous session. After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March. The popular e-mail management app Mailbox, developed by Orchestra Inc., has been updated to be compatible with Apple's iPad. Orchestra disclosed the news of the update through its official blog. "You asked, we listened. Mailbox is now available for iPad, so you can swipe your way to inbox zero on all your iOS devices," Orchestra's brief blog read.
