Liberty Interactive Q2 Profit Down - Quick Facts

Liberty Interactive Corp. (LINTA: Quote,LINTB: Quote) posted second-quarter net income attributable to Liberty Interactive shareholders of $234 million versus $257 million last year.

On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.23 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net retail sales grew to $2.37 billion from $2.25 billion in the prior-year quarter. The increase in revenue was due to favorable results at QVC and the eCommerce companies. Analysts expected revenues of $2.34 billion.

After reporting a sharp drop in new orders for manufactured durable goods in the previous month, the Commerce Department released a report on Friday showing that durable goods orders rebounded by more than anticipated in the month of April. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March.
