SodaStream Q2 Profit Up; Updates 2012 View - Quick Facts

SodaStream International Ltd. (SODA) reported higher second-quarter net income of $9.5 million or $0.45 per share, compared with last year's $6.6 million or $0.32 per share, with adjusted net income rising to $10.9 million or $0.52 per share, from $7.9 million or $0.38 per share in 2011.

On average, 5 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings per share of $0.46 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.

Total revenue for the second quarter of 2012 went up 49.1% to $103.0 million from $69.1 million a year ago. Analysts estimated revenues of $90.64 million for the quarter.

In addition, the company now sees 2012 net income to increase about 55% over 2011 net income of $27.5 million, up from its prior forecast of 50%. This guidance includes a share-based expense of some $5.6 million. Full-year revenue is now anticipated to increase about 40% over 2011 revenue of $289.0 million, up from its earlier guidance of 33%.
