Mortgage guarantor Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) posted second-quarter net income attributable to the company of $5.11 billion, compared with a loss of $2.89 billion last year. Net profit attributable to common stockholders was $2.185 billion, as against a $5.175 billion loss a year before.
Quarterly earnings per share amounted to $0.37, versus a loss of $0.90 in the prior-year quarter.
Net revenues for the 2012 second quarter rose to $5.82 billion from $5.24 billion in the comparable period in 2011.
