Republic Airways Holding Reports 3% Drop In July Capacity - Quick

Republic Airways Holdings (RJET: Quote) Wednesday released the preliminary results of passenger traffic for the month of July 2012.

The airline holding company reported that it has generated approximately 1.958 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs during the month, 3 percent lower than 2.022 billion revenue passenger miles generated for the corresponding month last year,

Available seat miles or ASMs for the month declined 5 percent to 2.267 billion from 2.378 nillion available seat miles reported for the year-ago period,

Load factor for the month of July 2012, however, increased to 86 percent from 85 percent reported for July 2011.

Republic Airways carried 2.85 million passengers during July 2012, 4 percent lower than 2.98 million passengers carried in the same month last year.

More than a decade after the 9/11 attacks, Obama argued that the terrorist threat has shifted and evolved.
