Bank of America has added mobile check deposit to their iOS app. The new app will allow customers with an iPhone or iPad device to deposit checks into their accounts by simply taking a photograph of the front and back of the check within the app.
The free service has a limit of $5000 in deposits a month and can be accessed from anywhere with wifi or mobile service. Reps for Bank of America broke the news in an official statement saying:
"Using the Bank of America Mobile App and the camera on their iPhone, iPad, Android smartphone or tablet and Windows phone, mobile banking users can now deposit checks without visiting an ATM or banking center."
Bank of America joins a growing number of banks offering mobile check deposit including Chase, Schwab Bank and PayPal.
