EZchip Semiconductor Q2 Profit Rises

EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (EZCH: Quote) reported second-quarter net income of $5.6 million or $0.19 per share, up from $4.8 million or $0.17 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Excluding items, non-GAAP net income for the quarter was $8.4 million or $0.29 per share, compared to the non-GAAP net income of $9.4 million or $0.33 per share in the year ago quarter.

On average, 9 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.26 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the latest quarter declined 9 percent to $15.8 million from $17.3 million a year ago. Analysts expected revenues of $15.51 million for the quarter.
