During New York afternoon trading on Wednesday, the Canadian dollar spiked up against major currencies. The loonie climbed to fresh multi-day highs of 1.2292 against the euro and 1.0509 versus the Australian dollar at around 1:10 pm ET, compared to yesterday's closing values of 1.2364 and 1.0525, respectively.
The next resistance level for the Canadian unit is seen at 1.2274 against the euro and 1.0506 versus the Aussie.
Against its Japanese counterpart, the loonie also advanced further in today's afternoon session and currently trading near 78.98 from previous session's low of 78.47.
