Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. (IDIX: Quote) Wednesday reported a wider loss for the second quarter, due mainly to higher costs and expenses.
The Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company's second-quarter net loss was $25.40 million or $0.23 per share, compared to $13.91 million or $0.15 per share last year. On average, 10 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected loss of $0.21 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter grew to $1.44 million from $1.04 million in the prior-year quarter. Ten analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $1.42 million for the quarter.
