We Walk the Line: a Celebration of the Music of Johnny Cash, a CD/DVD set was released today (August 7). The set features video of a concert in Austin, Texas held earlier this year on what would have been the Man in Black's 80th birthday.
The disc boasts appearances by Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, Jamey Johnson, Shooter Jennings, Ronnie Dunn, Brandi Carlile and Sheryl Crow.
Carolina Chocolate Drops, Chris Cornell, Ray LaMontagne, Amy Lee and Lucinda Williams, Andy Grammer, John Hiatt and Rhett Miller are also highlighted on the discs.
"There is no doubt in my mind that, although he is no longer with us in body, his spirit [shined] true on this night thanks to these inspired artists," John Carter Cash said of the tribute.
The set was produced and distributed in conjunction with Legacy Recordings, the division of Sony Music Entertainment that serves as the home of Johnny Cash's music catalog.
