The Office for National Statistics is slated to issue U.K.'s foreign trade data at 4:30 am ET. The visible trade deficit is seen widening to GBP 8.7 billion from GBP 8.4 billion in May. The visible trade balance is the part that refers to international trades in physical goods.
The pound edged higher against its major rivals ahead of the report. As of 4:25 am ET, the sterling was trading at 0.7885 against the euro, 1.5242 against the Swiss franc, 1.5655 against the dollar and 122.86 against the yen.
