Melanie Fiona has regularly been covering Alanis Morissette's "Ironic" at her live shows. The singer likes the song so much in fact that she decided to sing it as part of Billboard's Candid Covers series. The "4 AM" singer spoke on how when she was younger the song touched her:
"It's a great song that really cut through in pop culture when I was a kid. I was instantly reminded, without even hearing the record, back to that moment, the connection of what it is, the highs and lows of life, and the beautiful journey of how life can be so high up here and just go right down to the bottom. Sometimes the only way to describe that is ironic."
Fiona released her second studio album, The MF Life, this past March and also wrote and produced all 13 songs on the collection.
