Silver Wheaton Corp.(SLW,SLW.TO), a silver streaming company Thursday announced a decision to pay a dividend of US$0.10 per common share payable on or about September 13, 2012 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 30, 2012. The dividend qualifies as an "eligible dividend" for Canadian income tax purposes, said Silver Wheaton.
Under the Company's dividend policy, the quarterly dividend per common share is equal to 20% of the cash generated by operating activities in the previous quarter divided by the Company's outstanding common shares at the time the dividend is approved, all rounded to the nearest cent.
The company also said that the declaration, timing, amount and payment of future dividends will remain at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
On Thursday, Silver Wheaton closed at $30.31 on the TSX.
