Deep Purple's classic album Machine Head will see a 40th anniversary reissue this fall, EMI has announced.
The new five-disc special edition is currently only slated for a European release. The first disc is a remastered version of the 1972 release. In 1997, Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover remixed the effort, which makes up the second disc. The third disc is the original album remastered in Quad SQ stereo sound. As for the other two discs, the fourth is a 1972 concert at the Paris Theatre in London, while the fifth disc is a DVD that offers the album as a high resolution remaster with a surround mix.
In addition, the entire package comes with a 60-page hardback booklet. It features detailed essays from Glover and Mojo magazine editor Phil Alexander as well.
