AG Mortgage Investment Trust Prices $135 Mln Stock Offering

AG Mortgage Investment Trust, Inc. (MITT: Quote) said Friday that it has priced a public offering of 6 million shares of its common stock for total estimated gross proceeds of about $135 million.

The company has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase 900,000 additional shares of its common stock.

The offering is expected to close on August 15.

The company expects to use the net proceeds from the offering to make additional acquisitions of residential mortgage-backed securities, other real estate-related securities, and for general corporate purposes.

Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. are acting as joint book-running managers for the offering.

A rebound in consumer spending helped the German economy thwart recession in the first quarter of 2013, detailed data from the Federal Statistical Office revealed Friday. After moving sharply lower at the start of trading on Thursday, stocks showed a substantial recovery attempt over the course of the trading day. The rebound came as upbeat housing data helped offset worries about the Federal Reserve. The major averages climbed well off their worst levels of the day but still ended the session in the red.
