Supertel Hospitality Turns To Profit In Q2

Supertel Hospitality, Inc. (SPPR) reported second-quarter net income attributable to the company of $1.6 million or $0.07 per share, compared to the net loss of $4.5 million or $0.20 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Funds from Operations, or FFO, for the quarter rose to $3.6 million or $0.07 per share, from $2.6 million or $0.11 per share in the year-ago quarter.

Excluding items, adjusted FFO for the quarter was $2.9 million or $0.05 per share, compared to $2.6 million or $0.11 per share last year.

On average, 2 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.11 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues for the latest quarter rose to $21.6 million from $20.4 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $21.32 million for the quarter.
