Jennifer Hudson appeared in the NBC promo for the second season of the Broadway dramedy Smash.
The preview for the show aired last Tuesday during the Olympics and features the American Idol alum, who plays the character of Veronica Moore. Hudson's character on the show will be recurring, and she is described as a Tony Award-winning Broadway star who will interact with Karen (Katharine McPhee) and Ivy (Megan Hilty).
"Her character will represent someone who reached their Broadway dream but also paid a price for it," NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said when announcing her casting.
Smash has also added a few others to their upcoming season, including Daniel Sunjata, who will play the love interest of Julia (Debra Messing).
Hudson will be appearing in the premiere episode of Smash's upcoming season, which will be airing as part of the mid-season lineup.
