Slovakia's inflation gained momentum in July, rising for a second straight month, data released by the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic revealed Monday.
The consumer price index (CPI) climbed 3.7 percent year-on-year, following June's 3.4 percent increase. It is the highest rate since March, when inflation was 3.8 percent.
Month-on-month, consumer prices were flat in July, after a 0.2 percent gain in the previous month.
Core inflation, which excludes volatile prices, also accelerated for a second month in a row. The figure rose to 2.8 percent from June's 2.5 percent.
