Retail sales in the Netherlands increased at a slower pace in June, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed Monday.
Retail sales turnover increased 1 percent on an annual basis in June, slower than the 1.6 percent growth seen in May.
Sales of food and beverages advanced 4 percent year-on-year, with sales at both supermarkets and specialty stores rising. Meanwhile, non-food stores recorded a modest decline in turnover during the month.
Sales at mail order companies and internet stores were higher by around 8 percent compared to June last year, the agency said.
In the second quarter, Dutch retail trade decreased around 2 percent from the corresponding period a year earlier.
