The Capitol Theatre announced that Bob Dylan will headline the first show at the newly refurbished venue's re-opening. The Port Chester, New York theater hosts Dylan on September 4.

"It's a great gift for the Capitol Theatre and fans of live music," Peter Shapiro, who is leading the Capitol's revival, told DarienPatch.com. "It's going to give the theatre a lot of positive momentum from the beginning, and I think that is something that will benefit all of the shows that come after September 4th."

According to Dylan's official website, tickets go on sale on August 17; pre-sale ticks are offered through his web site starting Monday, August 13.

The theater, originally opened in 1926, has announced an impressive and diverse line-up over the next few months, including performances by Buddy Guy with Jonny Lang, Regina Spektor, the Moody Blues and My Morning Jacket.
