India's wholesale price inflation slowed notably in July, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported Tuesday.
Wholesale prices increased 6.87 percent annually, slower than the 7.25 percent growth logged in June. The annual rate was forecast to remain almost stable at 7 percent in July.
Primary article price inflation slowed to 10.39 percent from 10.46 percent a month ago. Meanwhile, manufactured product inflation rose to 5.58 percent from 5 percent.
Fuel and power costs gained only 5.98 percent compared to last month's annual growth of 10.27 percent.
