Baytex Energy Corp. (BTE, BTE.TO) reported second-quarter net income of C$157.28 million or C$1.30 per share versus C$106.86 million or C$0.90 per share a year ago.
Petroleum and natural gas sales declined to C$284.25 million from C$336.9 million in the prior-year quarter.
Revenue, net of royalties, were C$238.2 million, a 17% decrease from the previous year, due in part to the increase in sales volumes which were delivered to market on railways.
The company produced 53,073 boe/d in the quarter, up 11% from last year.
