Average weekly earnings in Australia increased 0.4 percent in the three months to May compared to the preceding three months, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Thursday.
In the public sector, weekly wages rose 0.7 percent compared to the three months ended February, while it rose 0.3 percent in the private sector.
Compared to same period last year, overall earnings were 3.4 percent higher.
The Bureau said that the May 2012 publication is the last quarterly issue and from 2013 onwards, the average weekly earnings series will be published twice a year relating to the May and November quarters.
