Ruukki Group Slips To Loss In Q2 - Quick Facts

Ruukki Group Plc.(RKKI.L) reported that its second-quarter loss was 2.3 million euros, compared to profit of 0.3 million euros in the prior year quarter. On a per share basis, net loss was 0.01 euros, compared to break even last year.

Loss before taxes for the quarter narrowed to 2.5 million euros from 5.9 million euros in the prior year period.

Revenue for the quarter decreased to 31.3 million euros from 44.5 million euros in the same quarter last year.

Ruukki expects its revenue for the full year 2012 to be in line with 2011 and the Company's financial performance for the full year 2012 to be better than 2011 because of more stable market conditions, improved cost efficiency across the operations, and favourable exchange rates.

The company said that its performance for the third-quarter 2012 is not expected to be as positive as the second-quarter of 2012. due to the seasonal nature of the business.

Stocks have shown a notable move to the downside in early trading on Friday amid lingering concerns about the outlook for the Federal Reserve's asset purchase program. The report said durable goods orders surged up by 3.3 percent in April after tumbling by a revised 5.9 percent in March. The popular e-mail management app Mailbox, developed by Orchestra Inc., has been updated to be compatible with Apple's iPad. Orchestra disclosed the news of the update through its official blog. "You asked, we listened. Mailbox is now available for iPad, so you can swipe your way to inbox zero on all your iOS devices," Orchestra's brief blog read.
