ICAP To Create Global Broking Division - Quick Facts

Interdealer broker ICAP Plc (IAP.L,IAPLY.PK,IAPLF.PK) Thursday announced an internal reorganization creating a single, global voice broking division to reflect the changing nature of its business and serve customers more effectively.

ICAP has so far operated its broking business on a regional basis in the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

The reorganization will enable the group to execute a global strategy for voice and hybrid broking services. The division will be renamed "Global Broking" from "Voice."

The new division will be run by David Casterton as CEO Global Broking. He was most recently CEO of the EMEA voice business.

Doug Rhoten becomes Chairman of ICAP Americas. He will be directly responsible for several most senior customer relationships. He will also be in charge of managing ICAP's Brazilian operations as well as strategy and leadership of ICAP's responses to upcoming regulatory changes.

Red Hat Inc., the world's largest seller of Linux software, said Wednesday after the markets closed that its first quarter profit rose 8% from last year, as revenue increased 15% amid strong consumer demand. The company's quarterly earnings per share, excluding items, also came in above analysts' expectations as did its quarterly revenue. After moving mostly higher over the course of the two previous sessions, stocks pulled back sharply during trading on Wednesday. A negative reaction to the Federal Reserve's monetary policy announcement weighed on the markets in afternoon trading. The major averages saw some volatility following the announcement from the Fed, closing firmly in the red. Providing a potential boost to comprehensive immigration reform, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has estimated that the immigration bill currently being debated in the Senate would result in a notable reduction to the federal budget deficit.
