When Gotye's song "Somebody That I Used To Know" was released last year it created quite a buzz with several covers of the track surfacing online. Now Gotye has taken a slew of those covers and made a video mash-up of the song.
The video of the "orchestra" version of the song was posted on Sunday, August 12 and already reached 425,000 page views and had gotten over 20,000 "likes" by 10 a.m. Eastern time on Monday morning.
"Reluctant as I am to add to the mountain of interpretations of 'Somebody That I Used To Know' seemingly taking over their own area of the internet, I couldn't resist the massive remixability that such a large, varied yet connected bundle of source material offered," the singer wrote in the YouTube description. He also said he was inspired by Kutiman's Thru-You project to make the video, which he titled "Somebodies: A YouTube Orchestra."
Gotye continues to tour in support of his debut album, Making Mirrors.
