Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) said Thursday that U.S. Southern Command
has awarded it a task order to provide information management support.

This order was awarded as part of the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions Services indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract in the first quarter of CSC's fiscal year 2013. The order has a one-year base period and two one-year options for a total value of $74 million.

As per the agreement, CSC will continue its long-term relationship in support of U.S. Southern Command's Theater Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Support Center to plan, engineer, install, operate, sustain and protect all information technology and management requirements.

CSC also announced the opening of six applicant service centers in five cities in Brazil under a task order from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs. Through this work, it is launching a streamlined visa service for Brazilians wishing to travel to the United States.

This task order, awarded during the company's second quarter of fiscal year 2012, has a two-year base period and four option years, bringing the estimated total value to $147 million. It was awarded under the Global Support Strategy for Overseas Consular Services indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract that CSC won in February 2010.
