Children's Place Retail Stores (PLCE) Broke Out To An 8-Month High On Q2 News

Children's Place Retail Stores (PLCE) reported a second quarter adjusted net loss of $0.62 per share Thursday morning, compared to the consensus estimate of a loss of $0.66. Third quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $1.53 and $1.58. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $1.63. Full year 2012 adjusted EPS is now expected to be between $3.20 and $3.30, up from prior guidance of $3.15 to $3.30. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $3.23.

Children's Place Retail Stores gapped up sharply Thursday, but traded in a range for the majority of the session. Shares finished up by 4.33 at $55.90, with volume at a 3-month high. The stock broke out of a month and a half long range and set an 8-month high.
