Agilent Technologies Inc. (A: Quote) reported third quarter adjusted net income of $0.79 per share after the close Wednesday, up from $0.77 per share last year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.83. Fourth quarter adjusted EPS is expected to be between $0.80 and $0.82, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.93.
Agilent Technologies gapped open sharply lower Thursday and fell in early trade, before settling into a range. The stock closed down by 3.33 at $37.15 on the highest volume of the year. Agilent fell to a 2-week low and slipped beneath its 50 and 200-day moving averages.
