Pennon Says Overall Financial Performance Remains In Line With View

Pennon Group Plc (PNN.L) in its interim management statement said overall financial performance at the company since March 31, 2012 remains in line with management expectations.

The company stated that South West Water is continuing its strong performance against the 2010-2015 regulatory contract and is well placed to outperform the assumptions contained therein. Pennon continues to deliver robust operational performance and high standards of customer service.

Besides, the company noted that Viridor is not immune to the difficult conditions in the world economy and trading has been significantly below the high level of last year's first half with recyclate prices remaining under pressure.

Gap Inc. Thursday after the markets closed that its first quarter profit rose 43% from last year, helped by higher sales and improved margins.
