The Burpee Museum of Natural History has opened a multimedia exhibition dedicated to Cheap Trick guitarist/songwriter Rick Nielsen.

The display, located in Nielsen's hometown of Rockford, Illinois, is called "Rick's Picks: A Lifelong Affair with Guitars and Music"; it features selections from the legend's guitar collection, performance videos, a variety of photos, Cheap Trick tour memorabilia and some of the stage outfits Nielsen has worn over the years.

"The hardest part was excavating all of the stuff," a museum rep told the Chicago Daily Herald. "I don't think (Nielsen) has ever thrown anything away in 40 years of touring."

"I've kept every contract I had, every receipt for every guitar I've had, and I've owned over 2000 guitars," added Nielsen.

The exhibition opened on August 11 and closes on April 11, 2013.
