Donald Fagen of Steely Dan fame is prepping the release of his fourth solo record, Sunken Condos. The LP, co-produced by Fagen, consists of eight new original tracks and a cover of Isaac Hayes' "Out of the Ghetto."
The official announcement for Sunken Condos describes it as "a new chapter in [Fagen's] creative evolution."
Fagen's three previous solo efforts, 1982's The Nightfly, 1993's Kamakiriad and 2006's Morph the Cat, made up what the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer dubbed The Nightfly Trilogy.
Fagen enlisted help in the studio from Jon Herington, the Steely Dan Horns and Freddie Washington. Michael Leonhart gets co-production credits on the disc. Sunken Condos, currently available for pre-order at Amazon.com, is due sometime in October.
