Scott Stapp, Creed frontman, is prepping the release of his autobiography, Sinner's Creed, co-written by David Ritz, who has also done bios for Janet Jackson and Marvin Gaye.
In addition to documenting his musical successes, the book will dwell on Stapp's excesses - his battle with alcoholism and depression.
Speaking with Billboard, Stapp said writing the book was an "emotional" process:
"It's going to be constantly interrelated with the realities of God's grace and love and miracles, and how they happen in the weirdest ways and how they happen to all of us . . . It's definitely a cathartic process for me, and I really hope that those who read it can walk away knowing more about my life."
Sinner's Creed is due October 2.
