Matt Bellamy, singer of Muse, says that Hans Zimmer has been a big influence on the band's upcoming record, The 2nd Law. Zimmer composed the score of The Dark Knight Rises, among many other screen credits.
"I've always been very influenced by and interested in film music, growing up watching Stephen Spielberg films or John Williams' stuff. And I've always been a big fan of Hans Zimmer," Bellamy told Classic Rock magazine.
"He's the greatest film composer of recent times. That song 'The 2nd Law,' you can definitely hear some Hans Zimmer influence," he added.
Bellamy also called the album "very diverse," noting that "every song has been produced very specifically and differently to whatever is best for the song."
The 2nd Law, Muse's follow-up to 2009's The Resistance, is finished, but has no release date yet.
