Tony Scott, the legendary Hollywood director behind the films "Top Gun" "Days of Thunder" has passed away at the age of 68. Scott took his own life by jumping off of the Vincent Thomas Bridge, which connects the area of San Pedro to Terminal Island in Los Angeles Harbor.
According to a report from the U.K.'s Telegraph, the British director left his Toyota Prius car and climbed over an eight-foot fence before jumping off of the 185-foot bridge. A suicide note was reportedly left at Scott's office.
Reps for the Scott family confirmed his death in a statement writing:
"I can confirm that Mr Scott has indeed passed away. The family asks that their privacy be respected at this time."
Tony is the younger brother of Ridley Scott and also worked on films including "True Romance," "Enemy of the State" and "Unstoppable."
