Finland's unemployment rate remained unchanged from last year in July, data released by Statistics Finland showed Tuesday.
The unemployment rate came in at 6.9 percent in July, unchanged from that recorded in the same month a year earlier. In June, the jobless rate was 7.9 percent. The number of unemployed persons remained unchanged at around 192,000 in July.
Meanwhile, the employment rate advanced to 72.7 percent during the month from 71.8 percent a year earlier. The number of employed persons increased to 2.61 million from 2.58 million in July 2011.
The unemployment rate among young people, aged 15 to 24, was 11.7 percent in July, two percentage points lower than in the previous year, data showed.
