Rosie O'Donnell Suffers 'Widow Maker' Heart Attack

Rosie O'Donnell says she's lucky to be alive after suffering what is commonly known as a "widow maker" heart attack. The 50-year-old broke the news on her blog, saying that she ignored its symptoms for several days before seeking medical attention.

O'Donnell she was feeling symptoms of soreness, an ache in the arm, hot and cold flashes, and nausea but thought it was the result of a physical activity in the days before.

"Maybe this is a heart attack," she wrote. "I Googled women's heart attack symptoms. I had many of them but really? - I thought - 'naaaa,'" Rosie wrote on the site.

She did take aspirin throughout the ordeal after seeing a commercial noting its use in heart attack cases. After visiting her doctor Rosie learned that one of her arteries was over 90 percent blocked.

"Saved by a TV commercial, literally," she wrote.
