Taylor Swift will perform at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards next month; and, according to a recent video she posted to the web, she'll be debuting the first track from her fourth forthcoming LP, Red.
"When I was coming up with the name for this album, it seemed crazy because it was really simple," Swift told MTV.
"I wrote a song called 'Red,' and thinking about what that song means to me and all the different emotions on this album they're all pretty much about the tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships I've experienced in the last two years and all those emotions fanning from intense love, intense frustration, intense jealousy, confusion, all of that in my mind, all those emotions are red."
The MTV VMA's, hosted by comedian Kevin Hart, air live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles at 8 PM EST on Thursday, September 6. Interested parties can head to VMA.MTV.com to vote for their favorite acts. Ballots close on August 24.
