Malaysia's unemployment rate remained unchanged for the second successive month in June, data released by the Department of Statistics showed Wednesday.
The unemployment rate, on an unadjusted basis, came in at 3 percent in June, unchanged from the previous two months. In June 2011, the jobless rate was 3.2 percent.
The number of unemployed persons in the country, meanwhile, increased to around 388,500 in June from about 380,200 in May.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, the jobless rate was 2.8 percent, lower than the previous month's 3.1 percent. A year earlier, the seasonally adjusted figure was 3 percent.
At the same time, the number of persons in employment edged up to around 12.52 million in June from about 12.51 million in May. The labor force participation rate remained unchanged from the previous month at 65 percent, data showed.
