Japan's supermarket sales declined 4.9 percent in July from a year ago, the Japan Chain Stores Association said Wednesday. The annual fall was sharper than the 3.9 percent decrease logged in June.
Before store adjustment, sales slipped 5.6 percent year-on-year.
