Lauryn Hill Turned Down Oprah Interview

Lauryn Hill turned down an opportunity to appear on the interview couch opposite Oprah on the latter's OWN program, Oprah's Next Chapter.

Following O's interview with Rihanna, a follower on Twitter suggested Hill as a subject, to which Oprah replied, "Tried. She said no."

The former Fugees star is facing tax trouble after failing to file taxes from 2005 to 2007. A guilty verdict could mean three years in jail. Her sentencing comes in November.

Hill did address her legal troubles on a blog post in which she said her success forced her to remove herself from "a more mainstream and public life."

"During this period of crisis, much was said about me both slanted and inaccurate, by those who had become dependent on my creative force, yet unwilling to fully acknowledge the importance of my contribution, nor compensate me equitably for it," she opined.
