An index measuring the average asking price of a home in the United Kingdom was down 0.1 percent on month in August, property tracking website Hometrack reported on Monday.
That was in line with expectations and matched the rate of decline from the previous month.
By region, house prices in East Anglia , North West, North East, South West and the West Midlands all were down 0.1 percent, while prices in the East Midlands, South East and Yorkshires were down 0.2 percent. Prices in London were flat.
On a yearly basis, prices were down 0.5 percent - also as expected and unchanged from the July reading.
