Journey is headed to Tampa Bay, Florida (August 30) to play a private fundraising gig for Mitt Romney. The "Don't Stop Believing" rockers took a $500,000 payment in exchange for the performance.
The group will reportedly play a 90-minute set for those in attendance. Sources say that Journey members do not feel as though they are making a political statement by performing at the event.
Neither Romney nor his campaign are paying the half-mil required to get Journey to show; instead, a Romney-supported political action committee is forking over the funds.
In a joint interview, he did with his wife Ann for PARADE Magazine, Mitt did not mention Journey as one of his favorite bands; however, he did voice affection for Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Aerosmith, Alabama and the Killers.
