Killers: 'It's Fine For Mitt Romney To Like Us'

Killers: 'It's Fine For Mitt Romney To Like Us'
8/31/2012 3:45 PM ET

Earlier this week, Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney listed the Killers among his favorite bands in an interview with Parade magazine. The pick elicited chortles from the band's fans, but bassist Mark Stoermer, in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, says Mitt is free to like whomever he pleases:

"Anyone's allowed to like us. If it's just about music, I guess it's not a negative thing. He's, I guess, a guy and he listens to music and happens to like us. That's fine."

Asked whether the band would play at the White House, given a Romney victory and a subsequent invite, Stoermer stalled:

"We'd have to cross that bridge when we come to it. We're not really a political band. And we don't necessarily have all the same views, but none of us are very politically active anyway. I guess we would be open to it, depending on if and when it happens and what it was about."
