Michael Bay ("Transformers") has signed a deal with A&E to develop a supernatural cop drama titled "Occult." The program, written by James Wong ("American Horror Story"), follows two FBI agents who specialize in cases involving the paranormal.

No actors have been announced for the lead roles yet, but one of the characters has a troubled past having lost his marbles after an unsuccessful investigation of his wife's disappearance.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bay's Platinum Dunes company will produce the program, with Andrew Form and Brad Fuller serving as executive producers. So far, the network has not committed to any further episodes beyond the pilot.

A&E has a number of dramas currently in development for the upcoming season, including a "Psycho" prequel series titled "Bates Motel."
