Smashing Pumpkins leadman Billy Corgan expressed his hopes that wrestler Jerry "The King" Lawler recovers after collapsing during a broadcast of Monday Night Raw.
"Prayers go out for our brother Jerry 'The King' Lawler," tweeted Corgan.
The former professional wrestler, now commentator, had a heart attack behind the announcers' desk during a match at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.
"Jerry 'The King' Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating during Monday night's broadcast of Monday Night Raw in Montreal. We are hopeful Jerry makes a full recovery and returns to WWE in the near future. Our thoughts are with Jerry and his family," a WWE rep said in a statement.
Some present at the event wondered whether the collapse was staged, a possibility quickly foreclosed by the appearance of emergency crews.
