Kathy Bates hit Twitter earlier this week (September 12), to let her followers know she's on the mend after receiving a double mastectomy following a diagnosis of breast cancer.
"(1/2) Hey All, sorry for the long silence. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago & am recovering from a double mastectomy," wrote the 64-year-old actress on the micro-blogging site.
"(2/2) I don't miss my breasts as much as I miss Harry's Law. ;-) Thanks for all the sweet tweets. Y'all kept me going," she added in reference to the NBC drama "Harry's Law," in which she used to star. The program was canceled last May.
Bates survived ovarian cancer nine years ago.
"My family calls me Kat because I always land on my feet and thankfully this is no exception. I'm looking forward to getting back to work doing what I love to do," she noted.
