Blake Shelton Blasts Simon Cowell For Comments About The Voice

Blake Shelton has unleashed on Simon Cowell following a series of comments made by Cowell about the upcoming season of The Voice. The American Idol creator spoke up earlier this week claiming it was tasteless of the Voice producers to schedule their three-episode premiere in direct competition with Idol.

"I think it's mean-spirited, and I hope and I pray that it backfires on them, because it's one of the best shows we've ever made," Cowell said, noting that The Voice producers have broken their "gentlemen's agreement."

Blake was quick to respond, however, claiming that Cowell would be well suited to focus on his own show:

"Every time I turn around, he's mouthing off about our show. It's like, 'Do your own show! Come on! Put something together there and do your thing. We'll just do ours and we won't mouth off about you,'" he told Access Hollywood. "I wish I had that much time. The guy must just have more free time than he knows what to do with."
