Coastal Contacts Inc. (COA.TO: Quote) Thursday reported a wider loss for the third quarter, due mainly to higher expenses.
Net loss for the quarter widened to C$1.9 million or C$0.07 per share from C$1.5 million or C$0.06 per share in the year-earlier quarter.
Comprehensive loss for the period was C$1.9 million, compared to C$2.1 million last year.
On average, four analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report breakeven earnings for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Sales totaled C$50.3 million, up from C$49.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of C$54.61 million.
