Paul McCartney is the world's richest singer, according to a wealth estimation conducted by CelebrityNetWorth.com. Sir Paul is said to be worth roughly $800 million, about $200 million more than the next star on the list, U2's Bono.
Earlier in the year, it was reported that Bono was a billionaire after Facebook went public, as the singer's investment company had a significant amount of FB shares. Bono denied those reports.
The figure is based on "all publicly available information including salaries, real estate holdings, divorces, record sales, royalties and endorsements. The final net worths come from a formula that takes out taxes, manager's fees, agents' fees, and lifestyle."
Third on the list was Jimmy Buffet ($400 million), fourth Elton John ($320 million), fifth Mick Jagger ($305 million), sixth Sting ($290 million), seventh Phil Collins ($250 million), eighth Dave Matthews ($250 million), ninth Prince ($250 million) and tenth Dave Grohl ($225 million).
